Bihar Boy Hacks Google, Google Says Thanks
To know about the Bihar boy who hacked Google, watch our latest video.
Many on social media shared an image of a young man called Rituraj Chaudhary who did something extraordinary. The viral news was in Hindi which said: “This man, Rituraj Chaudhary, hacked Google for 51 seconds a few nights ago. Google officials in the USA went crazy. But Rituraj resumed Google’s services and mailed them about a flaw on their website that can be used to hack the system. Google held a meeting for 12 hours in the US and finally decided to hire Rituraj and sent him an offer letter with a package of Rs 3.66 crores per annum. Rituraj didn’t have a passport. So, Google talked to the Government of India, and the newly made passport reached his home within two hours. Rituraj will fly to the US in a private jet. He is studying B.Tech second-year in IIT Manipur and belongs to Mungergunj, a small village near Bihar’s Begusarai.”
These viral posts are misleading. An article was published in DNA which said that Rituraj didn’t hack Google but found a problem in their website which could help hackers hack into google. He then informed Google about it and received an acknowledgement email from them. Chaudhary himself dismissed rumours about getting a job in Google worth Rs 3.66 crores and flying to the USA. It is impossible to make a passport within hours. Chaudhary also added that he was not an IIT-Manipur student. There is no IIT in Manipur. He is, in fact, a student at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Manipur (IIIT-Manipur). Google’s team is now going through the problem found by Rituraj. Once the problem is fixed they will give him a reward. It will take 2-3 months.
